With past designer collaborations including Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons, Jimmy Choo, Lanvin, and most recently Versace, H&M has an impressive designer list on its hands that’s about to get more impressive.

The Swedish retailer has just announced a spring designer collaboration with Marni – a favourite with the models at Talent Management.

The collection, which will be for both women and men, promises to be full of the Italian brand’s signature print, pattern and inventive spirit.

Consuelo Castiglioni, Founder and Creative Director, said: “I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favourite pieces in signature fabrics and prints. As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colours, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic adding sporty utilitarian elements.”

Margareta van den Bosch, Creative Advisor H&M, added: “We all love the collection here at H&M and we believe that our customers will do the same. Marni has such a modern touch with everything they do, mixing prints and accessories in a playful but chic way. It’s fantastic to see how Consuelo Castiglioni coordinates her designs, matching new combinations of print and colour, with such incredible craftsmanship behind every piece. The collection will arrive in stores at just the perfect time, as a lovely statement for spring,”

Given that Marni is a label known for setting its own trends in print, cut and silhouette, we at Talent Management can’t wait to see the collaboration’s end result.

We do know, however, that women can look forward to bold all-over prints in strong and vivid colours, with hints of African inspiration and colour blocking.

The silhouettes are set to be classic Marni, with full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped trousers and jacquard knit, while fabrics will range from silk to crisp cotton poplin. We can also expect jewellery, shoes, bags and scarves to accessorise to our heart’s content!

For men, the silhouette, colours and fabrics are said to be softened for a modern and relaxed take on menswear staples that truly depict the essence of Marni. Unlike the women’s collection, the use of print will be subtle, often as a lining or as a contrast detail for shirts.

If you like the sound of this as much as our models here do, the hold out until March 8, 2012, when it will be available in around 260 stores worldwide and online.
