Catwalk model Nicole Gibson has revealed that she will go under the knife today to complete the final stage of her transformation into a woman. The transgender model was spotted after uploading her images online and made her debut at this year’s London Fashion Week for Catwalk For Change. Nicole already has further bookings ahead, beginning with the Ideal Home Show, when she has recovered from her surgery.

Speaking to the Daily Mail earlier in the week she said: “The fashion show was amazing. They say you have not really made it as a model until you walk along the catwalk in a sheer dress with your nipples showing – and here I was doing it in my first show. Luckily thanks to the hormones I have quite a nice pair now. I didn’t have time to get nervous, I was just so excited.”

And how had she prepared for her moment in the limelight? “I might not have ever been on the catwalk before now,” she said, “But I had plenty practice strutting up and down my living room aged ten to George Michael’s ‘Too Funky’.”

Nicole also shared some of her experiences of growing up as a boy called Glen in her interview with reporters from DM. “I didn’t know what I was feeling, but I knew I wasn’t the same as everyone else,” she explained. “I used to dress up in dresses and pretend I was Elizabeth Taylor in the Blue Bird – but I told everyone else I was pretending to be a wizard.”

The 32-year-old model is now looking forward to having her op and moving on with her life as a woman. “To me it is just something that I have to do. It is like having two horns on my head that I have to get rid of to become the person that I have always felt I was inside.’

Staff at modelling and talent agency Talent Management would like to wish Nicole the best with her op and her future modelling career.
