Lana Del Ray Blue Velvet Video For H&M Premières

Director Johan Renck captures the songstress/model singing an exclusive cover of the popular 1950s song ‘Blue Velvet’, originally written by Bernie Wayne and Lee Morris.

A couple of months ago, Talent Management told you that the stunning bee-stung beauty Lana del Rey was confirmed as the global face and voice of H&M Fall Fashion collection for autumn 2012.

Well, not only has Lana starred in a print campaign shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, but she’s also featured in a film which premièred today.

In it, director Johan Renck captures the songstress/model singing an exclusive cover of the popular 1950s song ‘Blue Velvet’, originally written by Bernie Wayne and Lee Morris.

The sultry tune has been recorded by several artists over the years, including Tony Bennett, Bobby Vinton and Ray Mason, who sung the first public performance of the song at a fashion show in Boston. But we have to say that Lana’s melancholy, deep tonal version is by far our favourite.

While there will be an edited version set to be used as a TV campaign , you can check out the fully-plotted music video in its entirety above and for the full fall collection, head to hm.com.
