Lana Del Rey Confirmed As The Global Face & Voice Of H&M This Fall

When we found out that Lana del Rey, one of the biggest names in music, was signed by a model agency, we knew it wouldn’t be long until she made her mark on the modelling industry in the same way she has the music industry.

When we found out that Lana del Rey, one of the biggest names in music, was signed by a model agency, we knew it wouldn’t be long until she made her mark on the modelling industry in the same way she has the music industry.

And we weren’t wrong. Talent Management can confirm that the gorgeous bee-stung beauty will be the global face and voice of H&M this fall.

We know what you’re thinking, how can you be the voice of a fashion brand? Well, not only will Lana star in a print campaign shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, but she’ll also feature in a full-length film in which she will sing a cover of ‘Blue Velvet’, shot by director Johan Renck. This fully-plotted music video will be available to see in its entirety at hm.com from September 19, with edited versions set to be used as a TV campaign.

As well as rocking the best of H&M’s Fall fashion in her own inimitable style, Lana is also set to model the brand’s winter line. H&M have revealed she’ll star in a second print campaign later in the season, to be shot by Sølve Sundsbø.

Donald Schneider, Creative Director at H&M, said of the news: “We are excited to have Lana Del Rey, the new star and style icon, as the face of our fall campaign. Lana is totally unique, and we wanted to create a print and film campaign that’s just as special. The mood is very L.A. noir and is inspired by our Fall collection, which also fits with Lana’s own personal style.

“The commercial that accompanies the campaign is like a mini-film, with a fantastic plot and Lana performing a cover of ‘Blue Velvet’. There’s never been a TV commercial that’s looked anything like this.”
