Having recently seen a transgender model fronting a bra campaign, a pregnant male model in bondage and a pair of models wetting their pants, we thought we’d pretty much become immune to the shock tactics of controversial fashion shoots…that was until now.

Today, the Talent Management bloggers were stunned when we came across a super-shocking selection of images by Aitken Jolly for Danish magazine Dansk’s no. 28 issue.

For the Anders Sølvsten styled shoot, entitled ‘Circus Humanus’, the arguably contentious photographer shot striking high fashion model Maria Bradley along with a pair of Sphinx cats and, perhaps most disturbing, a chubby, naked ‘circus freak’.

While we know that fashion often delves into the realms of art, attempting to convey some deep meaning, we can’t help but think the images, in particular the shot where the model is conjoined with the naked man, are more grotesque than avant-garde…but then maybe that’s the point.

On the magazine’s website, it says that Dansk is a “publication that brings inspiration to its readers and challenges the boundaries of fashion both in Denmark and internationally”, and that it has.
