Today, Talent Management was glad to see The Only Way Is Essex star Lauren Goodger using her reality TV fame for a good cause.

Painted as a snake and lying naked in a pool of fake blood, the 24-year-old fashion assistant has just modelled for a hard-hitting new PETA ad to highlight the horrific suffering of reptiles before they’re turned into shoes, handbags and other accessories.

Shot by renowned photographer Trevor Leighton, Lauren is calling on her fans to “leave wildlife out of your wardrobe” and aims to let people know that items made from exotic skins come with a high price – a price that’s paid by the animals who are torn away from their jungle homes and cruelly killed.

Every year, millions of snakes, alligators, lizards and crocodiles are killed for heartless fashions.

Snakes killed for their skin are often nailed to trees and skinned alive before being tossed into a pile to die. They can suffer for days before succumbing to shock or dehydration. Pythons often have a hose inserted into their mouth and are pumped full of water to make them easier to skin.

As a PETA US investigation revealed, alligators on farms are often beaten with hammers and sometimes take up to two hours to die.

The fashion experts at Talent Management for one know that there are lots of fashionable and cruelty-free alternatives available, including fake snake and mock croc, so there really is no reason for animals to suffer for your wardrobe.

Learn more about the cold-blooded horrors of the exotic-skins industry over on the PETA website, where you can also join Lauren in sending a powerful message not only to the cruel exotic-skins industry but also to designers, retailers and others who directly profit from the suffering caused by this brutal business.

Even if you don’t think snakes and lizards are cute, please remember that they feel pain and fear just as any animal does, so take the pledge now to shed exotic skins from your wardrobe!
