Talent Management is excited to hear that former male model Taylor Kitsch will soon be back on our screens in predicted blockbuster Battleship. If you aren’t familiar with this model-turned-actor you soon will be, Battleship is just one of three cinema releases that he’ll be starring in this summer – the other two being the much talked about John Carter and Oliver Stone’s Savages.

Battleship is a science fiction naval war film directed by Peter Berg and due for UK release next month. It tells the story of an intense battle between an international naval fleet and an alien species known as ‘The Regents’ – who have come to Earth with the intention of building a power source in its oceans. The trailer suggests full-on action and special effects and is more than reminiscent of the Transformers trilogy – which came from the same company, Hasbro. With a rumoured budget of around US$200 million action fans are expecting to be entertained!

Kitsch recently told Cover Media: “Its going to be truly a summer blockbuster. The cast is great and so is Pete. This film is really going to rock a lot of people.” The sort-after star will appear in Battleship alongside Liam Neeson – who plays the part of his superior officer Admiral Shane – and singer Rihanna – who plays a weapons specialist named Raikes. We couldn’t help wondering about Rihanna’s ability to be believable in this role but Berg seems impressed with her acting abilities:

“I was surprised no one had ever thought to hire Rihanna,” he recently told MTV News. “I was a huge fan of her videos. Obviously she’s sexy, but she has this real intensity. When I met with her, she came in a T-shirt and jeans, no makeup, very natural and she was like, ‘Look, I want to become an actress. Don’t kiss my a–. Don’t lie to me, push me! Treat me as you would any other actor. Help make me good.’ She is really, really good in Battleship.”

Kitsch said of his co-star Rihanna: “She is very sweet, very sweet.” But when asked if he gave her any advice himself during the making of the film he responded: “No, I didn’t give her any advice that is not my job. That’s up to Peter, I think she is in very good hands when she is with Peter Berg.”

Models, actors and booking agents at Talent Management look forward to seeing the film in April.
