Male Models Swamp ‘Signed By Katie Price’ Flop

Having watched Katie Price’s new Sky Living show ‘Signed By Katie Price’ last week, some of the guys at modelling agency Models Direct’s offices are left feeling unclear about what exactly is up for grabs for the winners.

On the Sky Living website it is stated that the successful candidate will get, “A year’s contract with Katie’s agency, the opportunity to model for Katie’s lingerie line, magazine cover shoots and international signings”, but when asked about it on camera Katie garbled something about ‘perfume’ and ‘trips around the world’ – her comments were made harder to understand due to some kind of cosmetic-procedure-induced speech impediment that she appears to be suffering from. Clearly reading from a script – in what were presumably intended to be informative inserts between clips of an embarrassing cattle-market style modelling audition process – she regurgitated vague, robot-like sentences about what she was looking for without a single muscle on her face so much as hinting at expression.

A modelling contract with Katie’s new talent management agency may work for any or all of the models who are taken through the audition process but the men would surely not be offered an opportunity to model her lingerie line? After all, not all men are as up for that kind of thing as KP’s ex-boyfriend Alex Reid. With this in mind could ‘Signed By Katie Price’ be the perfect opportunity for Katie to find the face of a new ‘Katie Price’ underwear line for men? There were certainly plenty of contenders. In fact, judging from the majority of male models that she wanted to “see more” of, this new enterprise could easily be mistaken for a ‘find Katie Price a new man’ exercise.

For someone who appears to want to be taken seriously in the entertainment and/or modelling industry Katie Price doesn’t do herself any favours. Is this due to bad advice from her own management or is it something else? After seeing her appear to forget her own skirt when she turned up to launch of the show – in stockings and suspenders – earlier in the week, one may be forgiven for thinking that simple absentmindedness could be to blame.

We can only hope that Katie will take a new approach in future endeavours. Meanwhile we will wait with interest to see whether or not a new Katie Price menswear line appears over the coming months.

What do you think of the ‘Signed by Katie Price’ show? We would love to hear your comments.
