BINTM’s Anastasija Talks Hair, Modelling Careers & Competition Advice

With her athletic figure reminiscent of the ‘original supermodel’, 20 year old Anastasija Bogatirjoea looked set to do well in the UK’s biggest modelling competition – Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model 2011 – especially given her background: “I’d done a bit of modelling back in Latvia before the show but none in the UK. At the time I was studying at college in London and a load of mates said I should enter – I never thought I’d make it!” she told Company magazine.

And indeed, the Latvian model did do well, having made it as one of the final four girls. However, when it came down to picking the final two, Anastasija didn’t make the cut, and was criticised for her ‘one-dimensional’ modelling efforts. Despite not winning, she still has a great outlook on modelling competitions: “My biggest advice for anyone wanting to enter the show would be – be confident. We all look different but the judges want someone that is different so as long as you can be positive about the way you look in your look you’ll do well.”

Although naturally a blonde bombshell, Anastasija spent the majority of the competition with candy floss pink hair, which the model embraced during her makeover. “My favourite shot of the competition was my first week pink haired and I loved it,” she revealed. But what we all want to know is what Anastasija’s hair is like now? “Since finishing the show I’ve cut my hair off so I haven’t had to deal with getting recognised too much,” she said.

So what does the BINTM evictee want to do with her modelling career having finished the competition? “I’d love to have a career like the Russian model Natasha Poli – she won the equivalents of Moscow’s BINTM and has now been on the cover of all the best fashion magazines,” she said.

Models Direct wishes this model the best of luck in expanding her modelling skills, poses and technique, and hopes to see more of her in the modelling industry.
