Plus size modelling is a topic that’s received a lot of discussion here in the Talent Management offices of late. As plus-size models gradually find their way to the forefront of fashion, what was once considered a niche market is now becoming the norm. And we at Talent management for one find this a refreshing move. So, in admiration of these curvy beauties, we’ve put together a top three list of who we think are the hottest plus-size models on the scene right now…

1. Chloe Marshall

Number one on our list has to be vivacious English rose Chloe Marshall. Having won the Miss Surrey title in March 2008, Marshall burst into the media spotlight when she became the first size 16 model to reach the finals for the Miss England tiara. Marshall said she “wanted to go through to the Miss England finals to break the stereotype that you have to be tall and skinny to be considered beautiful”. Although she came second, Marshall is proof of how far plus-size models can go in a competitive and judgemental industry.

2. Denise Bidot

Discovered by photographer Sita Mae Edwards, who is very well known in the plus-size modelling community, American sweetheart Denise Bidot comes next. Having recently featured in Glamour Magazine’s September issue, alongside Katherine Schwarzenegger, Bidot continues to compete with the traditionally slim models that currently dominate fashion’s image. And with her upcoming participation in Love Your Body Day and Full Figured Fashion Week, Bidot is a name you will be hearing much more from as she conquers the fashion world.

3. Whitney Thompson

Fans of America’s Next Top Model will know exactly why we’ve included Whitney Thompson in our top three. When season 10 aired, plus-size models went prime time. That’s because Thompson became the first plus-size model to win in the show’s entire history. Today, she’s an ambassador for the National Eating Disorders Association and has paved the way to mainstream fashion for fuller figured women with modelling potential and ambition.

Here at Talent Management, our dedicated modelling arm, Models Direct, has a whole host of models varying in age, ethnicity, and of course, size. So if you’re plus-size or full-figured, and are interested in becoming a model, then Talent Management may be the perfect avenue to start a career in a field that looks set to grow in popularity.
