On Twitter today, we were over the moon to see that famous disabled model Debbie van der Putten has shared one the agency’s recent blog posts ‘Talent Management’s Disabled Model Ella Bags Job With UK’s Biggest Fleet Operator‘.

Debbie is perhaps best known for being a contestant in Britain’s Missing Top Model, which aired on BBC3 in 2008, although she’s also known for competing in Holland-based beauty pageant for disabled women Miss Ability.

Today, Debbie is working as a successful professional model with some impressive campaigns under her belt, including working for Dutch fashion chain DiDi Fashion and Fudge Hair.

The stunning brunette, who lost her right arm as a teen, is also a spokesperson for Models of Diversity; a non-profit London-based organisation, which she became the face of for their first billboard campaign during the 2012 London Paralympics.

With such an inspiring modelling career, Debbie is a great encouragement not only to Ella and our other disabled models, but to all the models on our books that feel they have something a bit different about them – whether that’s size, age, ethnicity or even just a distinctive feature!

As an agency that fights for more diversity in the world of modelling, we welcome models from all walks of life and this is something we seem to have in common with Debbie!

For more on Debbie’s disability campaign and to hear her talk about disability in fashion today, check out this great interview on ITV1’s Daybreak, held just before London Fashion Week – MoD at ITV Daybreak.
