Despite the fact she’s been called “thick, vulgar, almost pornographic” and a “squishy brick” by the blogger at Skinny Gossip, not to mention being slated by Victoria’s Secret’s Casting Director for having “too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy”, Kate Upton has officially made the transition from swimwear model to fashion model!

How do we know this you ask? Well, having being featured in a small profile in the July issue of American Vogue, the stunningly curvaceous model has finally been given a bigger chance to show off her all-American appeal in the fashion industry.

In this month’s American Vogue, Anna Wintour has given Upton a full seven-page spread in the November issue. Marking her first ever feature for the fashion bible, we think this is the ultimate acceptance as a serious fashion model!

Shot by legendary photographer Steven Meisel, the young model worked her curves in an array of classic sportswear outfits, including pieces from Donna Karan, Michael Kors and Calvin Klein.

We love Upton in these chic spring looks, but whether in Vogue or the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, we’ll always be a fan –even if she does wear ridiculously tiny bikinis!
