It’s come as no surprise to Talent Management that pet actor Uggie, famous for his role in multi-Oscar-winning hit The Artist, has now bagged a modelling job!

The cute 10-year-old Jack Russell Terrier has been scooped up by PETA to promote the importance of adopting pets in their new ad.

Not only does the pup seem to love it in front of the camera, but this campaign is close to his heart.

When Uggie was a puppy, he was rejected by his first two guardians for being too energetic and wild. Uggie was on his way to an animal shelter when a friend of dog trainer Omar von Muller told him about the lively character. Omar decided to take Uggie in, fell in love with the little pooch and soon realised that Uggie had a gift.

Tens of thousands of homeless dogs and cats enter animal shelters every year in the UK. Thousands are euthanised simply because there aren’t enough good homes for them, while thousands more are left to languish in the shelters.

Uggie wants his fans to know that buying an animal from a pet shop or a breeder takes a home away from a deserving animal, just like him, waiting in a shelter for a loving family.

Here at Talent Management many of the staff agree that this popular pooch was the best thing about The Artist and are glad to see he’s using his fame to help other animals!

If little Uggie has done his job well and has convinced you to help put an end to animal homelessness, then you can show your support over on PETA.com, where you can pledge to practice animal birth control by spaying or neutering your pet, educate others about the importance of spaying and neutering and never buy animals from breeders or pet shops.
