With The Only Way Is Essex, Geordie Shore and Made In Chelsea seasons all finished up for the year, we’ve found another little guilty pleasure in the latest semi-reality show based around one of the UK’s party capitals – Desperate Scousewives.

So far, the Models Direct team is loving the Scouse-packed show, but as usual, we’re more interested in finding out more about the featured models.

We’re starting off with the stunning Amanda Harrington. The Liverpool born and bred ‘It Girl’ started off her modelling career at just 16 when she won Miss Liverpool, but, having become a young mother, it wasn’t until later that her career really took off.

A few years ago, a friend sent some of her photos to a modelling agency and she hasn’t looked back since! Since 2006, she has produced her own calendar every year, which sells thousands of copies.

However, Harrington is not just a pretty face and a curvy body. “What you see [with me] is definitely not what you get…” she says. The entrepreneurial model sells a number of different beauty products, including her own range of hair extensions, and has even opened up her own modelling school that teaches aspiring models how to make a success out of modelling.

Now 30-years-old, it’s clear this model is a straight talking businesswoman, striving to make a success for her child.

“I am invited to all the glamorous parties, openings and red carpet events in this city. I run my own modelling school whilst at the same time I’m a single mum who’s just trying to make something of myself and be as successful,” she says.

“Pamela Anderson and Kim Kardashian are my idols – beautiful and successful women who have used their looks and bodies to earn them millions! My ambition in life is to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated.”

But until Sports Illustrated comes knocking, this local model is changing the misconceptions and stereotypes around both Liverpudlians and single mothers – and Models Direct loves what we’ve seen so far!
