So summer’s here and holidays are lined up. It’s a great time of the year, but it’s also a time when many women will feel the most self conscious about their bodies.

Luckily for those of us who need a little encouragement, Hollywood’s personal trainer to the stars Tracy Anderson recently spoke to FemaleFirst, revealing some top tips on how to get your body beach ready.

So just what is her number one tip for getting beach ready? “Start now! You don’t want to diet to get your beach body, go and enjoy your time at the beach and eat, and then lose your figure. You need to start now and actually make fitness a part of your lifestyle and then you actually enjoy it and keep it.

Continuing, she added: “Don’t feel like you have to be perfect, even if you can’t get perfect this summer, next summer you can.”

According to Anderson, who has trained the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Gwyenth Paltrow, the best way to tone up is to spend your workout time equally on your muscular structure and aerobic activity.

She also says that to get toned, slim legs, there are a few exercise techniques to avoid.

“Don’t over-exercise large muscles. The large muscles in the legs are massive, and they want to become even more massive. Don’t do the same repetitive movements over and over and don’t use heavy resistance.”

For more great tips and exercises you can do at home, we recommend checking out Anderson’s new programme, Metamorphosis – it’s all about women being able to identify what their problem areas are. Once you know what you want to change, the programme works to give women a “custom prescription that can actually transform them”.
