Canadian pop prince Justin Bieber may have the singing down to a tee, but judging by his latest shoot for V magazine, his modelling may need a little work.

Shot by Inez & Vinoodh, Bieber’s poses and expressions lack the enthusiasm and drive that’s so blatant in his music career.

Although still only 17 years old, after being shot by Art Streiber for Vanity Fair, modelling his own perfume alongside pro Dree Hemingway and posing for LOVE magazine, Bieber’s gained some good modelling experience – hence, we expected a little better.

Harsh as we may sound, sorry Biebettes, it seems the team at Models Direct aren’t the only ones critical of his efforts in the shoot.

Writers at fashion blog Fashionista said: “Justin Bieber may be one of the highest grossing pop stars of all time but dude could definitely brush up on his modelling skills. Because is it just us, or does The Biebs look confused/depressed/constipated during his whole V shoot, lensed by Inez & Vinoodh?

“We get that a gladiator hat and shiny leather suit may not exactly be his steez, but c’mon, he could have at least changed up his deer-in-the-headlights expression once or twice. Or smiled. Or something.”

The pop star, who’s approaching his 18th birthday, discussed his extreme drive to be the best as what he does in an interview accompanying the editorial: “My goal at the end of the day—right now—I want to be successful and be great at what I do. But eventually, I want to become the best at what I do. I want to be the best. In the world. I want to be better than anybody that’s ever done it. And in order to do that, I need to strive to be the best, be good to people and treat people with respect, and work as hard as I can. Because for me, I work so hard and this consumes my life, and it’s not worth it if I’m not the best.” Just a shame this passion doesn’t translate in his pictures.
