We adored it when Naomi Campbell, Yasmin Le Bon, Helena Christensen, Cindy Crawford and Eva Herzigova channelled Duran Duran on the Harpers Bazaar UK cover, but Vogue Paris’ Christmas issue has just set new highs.

The team at Models Direct is loving the emerging trend that sees our favourite models posing as musicians.

We adored it when Naomi Campbell, Yasmin Le Bon, Helena Christensen, Cindy Crawford and Eva Herzigova channelled Duran Duran on the Harpers Bazaar UK cover, but Vogue Paris’ Christmas issue has just set new highs.

Pictured above, we see the ultimate modelling chameleon Kate Moss posing as David Bowie’s flamboyant, androgynous alter ego Ziggy Stardust. Pulling off the look rather convincingly and beautifully, this cover proves that if anyone can pull off a ginger mullet, Kate Moss can!

Roughly translated, Emmanuelle Alt, Editor of Vogue Paris, wrote in the issue’s accompanying editorial: “For this outstanding Christmas issue, Vogue ups the sound. Not a guest star, as in recent years, but a host of artists who give life to the spell of music. On the cover, an unrecognizable Kate Moss sets the tone for this special music issue as David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust period under the eye of Mert & Marcus.”

The issue also sees photographer Mick Rock unveil his most stunning photographs of Iggy Pop, David Bowie and Lou Reed, while legend Debbie Harry poses alongside Boy George.

Vogue Paris No. 923, December / January 2012 is on newsstands today, December 5.
