Take it from a talent agency that connects multi-talented people to business every day, having more than one talent is a huge selling point. And, although a rewarding career in itself, modelling can be a great start off point to get your foot in a few more doors, whether that be singing, dancing, or acting. In fact, modelling has proved to be an extremely successful gateway into the acting world in particular – read more about how modelling helped Lily Cole’s acting career here.

Many actresses, Katherine Heigl, Lindsay Lohan, and Brooke Shields to name a few, began as child models. Shields, for instance, began her career as a model at just 11 months old. Later, in early 1980, 14-year-old Shields became the youngest fashion model ever to appear on the cover of Vogue. Today, she’s better-known as an actor, famous for films including Pretty Baby and The Blue Lagoon, as well as TV shows such as Suddenly Susan, That 70’s Show and Lipstick Jungle.

It seems this model-to-actor transition is not only seen in women, but in men too. Robert Pattinson, for example, the actor famous for playing Edward Cullen in the hugely popular Twilight series, in fact has a history in modelling which began when he was just 12. We could go on forever listing the successful models-to-actors, or even actors-to-models, Emma Watson being a great example.

But, whether you’re an aspiring actor, model or singer, we at Talent Management recommend registering all your talents. After all, your gateway to fame could be through an unexpected route too!
