Our favourite Brazilian supermodel,  Gisele Bündchen, has gone and surprised us all at Talent Management yet again.

As well as becoming a helicopter pilot, a mother and United Nations goodwill ambassador, the world’s highest paid model has now become a cartoon.

Gisele, who is known across the fashion industry for supporting environmental issues, has lent her likeness to an ecological superhero who stars in a web-based animated series called a ‘Gisele & the Green Team’.

Created to educate young people on environmental concerns and methods to help the cause, the cartoon follows the adventures of Gisele and a group of teens who work to protect the Earth from harm.

When asked how she ended up with her own cartoon series, Gisele told ArtsBeat: “It was initially going to start only in Brazil. They were like, ‘We want to do a cartoon about you,’ and I said that’s great, but if you’re going to do a cartoon, what are you going to talk about? It needs to be educational.”

Gisele went on to explain why she wanted the series to have an environmental focus. “I’ve been donating proceeds from my flip-flop collections for the last five years to different environmental causes. I have my own environmental cause that I sponsor, called Agua Limpa, in the south of Brazil, in the region where I grew up.

“But besides all that, I took a trip to the Amazon in 2004 and was in an Indian tribe for a week, and experienced how those people are with nature, how respectful they are of it and how they can live in harmony with it. At the same time it was heartbreaking to see they were having so many issues – their kids were getting sick because the water had a lot of pesticides, they were deforesting. I was like: ‘Oh my God. What am I going to do?’ I felt so small. I have to help these people.”

We at Talent Management always praise models and celebrities who use their fame and fortune for good, and Gisele is one model in particular that we look forward to reading about as she continues her fight for environmental causes.
