Talent Management has a bit of a fascination with unusual beauty at the moment; a look fast becoming popular by the Stones, Jaggers and Wixsons of the modelling world.

Whether its bee-stung lips, a dimpled chin or gapped teeth, girls with unconventionally beautiful features are fast becoming the industry’s models of the moment.

Some of our favourites fitting into this category include Lindsey Wixson, Georgia Jagger, and of course, the stunning Lara Stone. These girls have been dominating editorials and shining out on catwalks with their geek-chic, edgy looks.

But why the sudden trend? Are we sick of so-called perfection? Liz Hambleton, Beauty Director at Grazia, thinks so. “I think we’re maxed out on perfection and looking for something a little more real at the moment.

“A gappy tooth, tons of freckles, huge geek chic glasses all give someone so much more personality than a glossy blow-out and a fake tan. I’m more interested in looking at the Lara Stones and Karen Elsons of this world than Cheryl Cole,” she said.

Harriet Quick, fashion features director at Vogue, agreed: “I think that odd beauties really show off the current clothes well.

“At the moment fashion is rethinking classics and is focused on making real clothes. These girls make you look twice and see fashion in a surprising new light.”

Talent Management couldn’t agree more. Not only do these girls enhance fashion in a new way, but their rising popularity is an inspiration to all those unconventional beauties out there who worryingly aspire to ‘perfection’. So keep up the good work girls!
