Mary Charteris In Net-A-Porter's Royal Issue<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

She\u2019s got the looks, the title and the ties to fashion\u2019s elite. Yes, young model, socialite and DJ Lady Mary Charteris seems to ooze confidence. Well if you were the niece of fashion muse Daphne Guinness and could site the late Isabella Blow as an old family friend, then you would too right?<\/p>\n

Well, not quite. Just like many of us, for Charteris the confidence to try modelling<\/a> had to be eased out by something\u2026or someone, and Talent Management has just found out where that nudge in the right direction came from.

\nHaving just modelled for an editorial in Net-A-Porter magazine’s royal issue, which was released in conjunction with the Jubilee weekend, the blonde-haired aristocrat revealed how it was the legendary Isabella Blow that gave her the confidence to start modelling, with her mother and Guinness also inspiring her.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mum, who used to work in New York and at The Factory with Andy Warhol, my aunt Daphne and, of course, Isabella Blow [inspire me]’, she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’d go to Daphne’s house for Sunday lunch and the first thing I’d say to her was, ‘Can I go up to your wardrobe?’ and I would try everything on. And if it wasn’t for Isabella, I wouldn’t be modelling – she gave me the confidence to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

In fact, at just age 14 Charteris was already modelling for Blow on Tatler shoots, and thanks to that confidence boost and early start in the industry, she is now never too far from the lens.<\/p>\n

The young model has been profiled in everything from Teen Vogue to Jalouse, and has collaborated with a host of designers including Louis Vuitton, Jason Wu, Thakoon, Markus Lupfer and Phillip Treacy. And, when she\u2019s not modelling or sat front row, she’s often spotted DJing at London\u2019s hottest parties.<\/p>\n

It just goes to show how how far a little self-belief and inspiration can take you!<\/p>\n
