Back in 2009, Talent Management<\/a> wrote all about \u2018Style Rookie\u2019 blogger Tavi Gevinson. We loved her quirky style and way with words and at just 13 years old she made it into our hearts here at the agency.<\/p>\n

Well, it\u2019s a few years on and Tavi\u2019s not only developed her writing skills, but has also branched into modelling. Talent Management just came across this endearing yet creepy film for Wren\u2019s F\/W ’12 collection called \u2018Beware of Young Girls\u2019 starring none other than a now 15-year-old Tavi.

\nShowcasing some serious multi-talents, the young teen doesn\u2019t just model the range and act in the film; she also sings an evocative track by Dory Previn throughout.<\/p>\n

While Tavi is clearly a very talented young girl, compared to professional teen models she has very little modelling experience. So we can\u2019t help but be intrigued buy the fashion brand\u2019s choice to use an amateur.<\/p>\n

Wren designer Melissa Coker explained: \u201cWhen we make these films of course it\u2019s about clothes but I want it to be about a story rather than being like a closeup on a skirt.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the film\u2019s directors, Maximilla Lukacs, added: \u201cI told Melissa from the beginning that I wanted to use someone that was either an actress or a musician. I didn\u2019t want to use a model; I just wanted someone who actually did something.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, although Tavi doesn\u2019t have much modelling experience, this wasn\u2019t an entirely new venture for the blogging prodigy- she\u2019s currently starring alongside Cyndi Lauper in the new Uniqlo campaign<\/a>. And neither was it her first taste of singing – in Feburary, Tavi performed Neil Young\u2019s \u2018Heart of Gold\u2019 after a midnight screening of her new short film, Cadaver, in which the song is also featured.<\/p>\n

\u201cI started talking to Tavi and saw that Neil Young thing that she did and then me and Sarah [Sophie Flicker, the film\u2019s other director] got obsessed with this Dory Previn song, and I asked her if she would be into singing it, and she loved it,\u201d Lukacs said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s kind of this blossoming moment that\u2019s happening with her and I feel like the film sort of captures something about that, which is really cool.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so excited about this whole new crop of really intelligent, feminist, strong, empowered but also girly and fashion-conscious young girls and in my mind at least \u2018Beware of Young Girls\u2019 symbolizes \u2018beware of young girls because they\u2019re coming and they\u2019re smart\u2019,\u201d added Flicker.<\/p>\n
