Talent Management<\/a> has just found out that our favourite Brazilian supermodel Gisele B\u00fcndchen has been busy rallying support for African elephants.<\/p>\n

B\u00fcndchen, who is known for actively campaigning for a number of issues, was made aware of the animal\u2019s possible extinction and instability of its habitat during a recent trip to Kenya in which she visited the David Sheldrick Wildlife Sanctuary; a special orphanage for elephants.

\nThe Brazilian stunner and Goodwill Environmental Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme UNEP instantly fell in love with the gentle giants and was caught on camera bottle feeding a baby elephant who has been orphaned due to ivory poaching.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to speak up for these animals or they will continue to be in danger,\u201d B\u00fcndchen wrote on her blog. \u201cOne of the best ways to help protect the elephants is to help educate people about their plight. The David Sheldrick Wildlife Sanctuary is doing an amazing job educating local populations in the area about the elephants and the role they play in health and well-being of the ecosystem. It is very cool that they employ a lot of the local people at the sanctuary.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe protect what we care about, and we care about what we understand. Education on these issues is crucial. We must understand what\u2019s at stake and that we need to take action now. A simple step is to never buy anything made with ivory. Another easy step is visiting the website of the orphanage (http:\/\/www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org<\/a>), learn more about the elephants and share what you learn,\u201d the model added.<\/p>\n

B\u00fcndchen also took to her Facebook page to rally support from her fans. \u201cWhen I went to Africa I discovered that elephants are one of the smartest and most complex mammals on earth. If we don’t protect them, they can be extinguished,\u201d she posted.<\/p>\n
