We\u2019ve already spoken to Katie, Talent Management\u2019s Assignments Manager<\/a>, but now we speak to some of Talent Management\u2019s Talent Co-ordinators\u2026<\/p>\n

Tell us a little bit about your background and reason for wanting to work in the talent industry.<\/strong>
\n
\nRachael:<\/strong> I initially became part of Talent Management as one of their commercial
\nmodels. Finding a reputable agency that is committed, professional and communicative is difficult, so when I was offered a contract with Talent Management<\/a> I was over the moon.\u00a0When the opportunity arose to work for the agency that has supported me I jumped at the chance! Being able to engage with and support other aspiring models is rewarding and fun! \u00a0The team are great and so professional in such a fast paced environment.<\/p>\n

What is the most important part of your job?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mandy:<\/strong> What I enjoy most about being a Talent Co-ordinator is the process of the applications; from receiving an application, which I find very interesting, to following it up. In particular, I like finding out about the character of the applicant, whether they have had previous modelling experience and what has driven them to make the application to an agency, and not just any agency, but to Talent Management.<\/p>\n

It’s a good feeling knowing that I am helping someone to achieve their goals by taking their application further to see if a contract can be offered. Then of course if the application is successful, the happiness in being able to offer a contract and being able to assist them throughout their modelling career is even better.<\/p>\n

Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to be a model?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mandy:<\/strong> If you want to be a model, give it a go. If you don’t try and get into the
\nindustry you never know what could’ve been. Modelling is commercial, right from babies<\/a> through to seniors, including all shapes and sizes<\/a>. If you think about it, almost everything you see advertised is done by a model. We don’t ask you for professional photos for your application, just nice clear photos which show your potential and which will hopefully make us give you a call!<\/p>\n

Rachael: <\/strong>The best advice I can give is to have patience. This industry is fast paced
\nand so changeable that it is important to keep a level head and keep up do date
\nwith your agency. Keeping pictures and details up to date is essential, so ensure when applying to any agency you have up to date clear pictures from a digital camera. That way, the agency and clients get a true depiction of what you actually look like. \u00a0Also don’t limit yourself – the commercial industry is huge! Give yourself a chance<\/a> whether it be photos or TV commercials. Its all good fun and great experience!<\/p>\n
