Diane von Furstenberg\u2019s Spring Ad Campaign 2012<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Models Direct<\/a> team have just checked out Diane von Furstenberg newly unveiled spring ad campaign and were surprised to see a completely faceless model<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Shot by Camilla Akrans, apparently the ads are inspired by the surrealists, whose work typically featured the element of surprise, unexpected juxtapositions and non sequitur.<\/p>\n

This ad\u2019s tag line \u201cBe The Woman You Want To Be\u2026\u201d, however, seems to make perfect sense and as the model\u2019s face is covered with a mirror, it makes us think the designer wants us to see ourselves in the image – wearing her dress of course!

\nVon Furstenberg told trade journal WWD: \u201cI like that you can see yourself in these images. This time for me is all about new beginnings.\u201d<\/p>\n

The fact that the model has been transformed into an object mystery most certainly channels the surrealism movement, and makes this ad not only one of the more visually striking images we\u2019ve seen this season, but also one of the most thought provoking.<\/p>\n
