The child star<\/a> famous for the line \u201cI see dead people…\u201d in The Sixth Sense, is now re-surfacing as a fully fledged adult actor in new indie flick Sassy Pants.<\/p>\n

Haley Joel Osment stars alongside young actress Ashley Richards, best known for her role in TV series \u2018Awkward\u2019, in this comedy about a homeschooled teen with an over-bearing mum and a gay dad, played by Napoleon Dynamite\u2019s Diedrich Bader.<\/p>\n

Barely recognisable from his Sixth Sense days, we\u2019re treated to a now 23 year old Osment sporting piercings, tattoos and a lot of flesh as he plays a young gay lover.<\/p>\n

Considering his acting career<\/a> began at just four years old, when a talent scout scooped him up and landed him the part in a Pizza Hut TV commercial, it has always been clear Osment was destined to be a child star \u2013 but progressing from child actor to successful adult actor is a whole different ball game.<\/p>\n

Bagging that commercial may have launched his career – shortly after he starred in TV sitcom Thunder Alley, and then progressed to his first feature film role in Forrest Gump \u2013 but it\u2019s been a long-awaited return to the big screen for the Oscar-nominee, whose last major role was over a decade ago in A.I. Artificial Intelligence.<\/p>\n

Since then, his acting career has seen him venture into voiceover work for video games and cartoons, and when efforts to revive his on-screen acting career began with \u2018Montana Amazon\u2019, he failed to leave an impression.<\/p>\n

But, having just seen the Sassy Pants trailer, the team at Talent Management think Osment has proven that the child actor curse can be broken with a little determination.<\/p>\n

When the casting was announced last year, co-producer Rob Eric told Variety<\/a>: “This role allows him to break out of his shell and he will have no problem handling it.”<\/p>\n

So it\u2019s official, as far as Talent Management is concerned, the \u2018Sixth Sense\u2019 kid is most certainly back in the limelight!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
