Model skincare tips from Models Direct<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Winter weather can be hard on your skin but models<\/a> and celebrities always seem to look their best come rain or shine. How do they do it? Models Direct have collected a few favourite skincare tips that could help to keep you modelling<\/a> and looking you best throughout the colder months!<\/p>\n

Of course we all know the first rules of good skincare. It is very important to avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.
\nEating a balanced diet, staying hydrated, taking regular exercise and getting enough sleep are also habits that any model<\/a> should make an effort to maintain. But what else can be done to protect skin all year round, or give it a boost when you’re feeling lacklustre? Here are some favourite tips from the Models Direct<\/a> team.<\/p>\n

– Always remove make-up before going to bed.
\n– Exfoliate your skin at least once a week.
\n– Wear sunglasses on sunny days, yes, even when it\u2019s cold \u2013 it helps prevent wrinkles caused by squinting and protects your eyes from harmful UV.
\n– Reduce stress by making time for yourself. This will really make a difference to your appearance. Yoga is a fantastic way to stay looking as serene as possible.
\n– Sleep on a silky pillow – your face will slide around on the fabric rather than creasing. Better still, sleep on your back.
\n– Find a good night serum and cream that suit your skin and use them religiously. Take time to find what suits your skin best, and don\u2019t be afraid to ask for samples!
\n– Keep your skin hydrated and moisturised all year round. This is so important, even if you have oily skin.
\n– Wash your skin morning and night, with warm water to open the pores and a cold rinse to close the clean pores afterwards.
\n– Keep your hands\/hair off your face and always wash your hands before applying make-up.
\n– Don\u2019t pick pimples. If you feel you need extractions done, go to a professional therapist regularly, picking can cause nasty scars.
\n– A monthly facial treatment is a great idea if you can afford it and it will cost you less than a round of New Year drinks!
\n– Body brush daily – use a dry body brush and always brush towards the heart.
\n– Massage your skin (particularly the upper thighs) whenever you have time; it will tone your skin and dramatically improve the appearance of cellulite.
\n– Moisturise your body regularly – this is most effective when you have just had a bath or shower. Apply your favourite moisturiser liberally. For best results finish with a layer of oil, preferably with a high vitamin E content, to lock in the moisture, then wrap up warm so it can penetrate the skin.
\n– Weekly Manuka honey masks will help to heal your skin<\/a> and give dull winter skin a healthy glow.
\n– Weekly baths in Epsom salts will soften and detox your skin<\/a>.<\/p>\n
