John Lewis has built up a bit of a reputation for championing new British talent<\/a>. We saw it last year when the retailer\u2019s Christmas advert featured Ellie Goulding singing a cover of Elton John\u2019s ‘Your Song’ released in1970.<\/p>\n

Incredibly, Goulding\u2019s version of the classic ballad reached number two in the official UK chart following the success of the advert.<\/p>\n

Talent Management is now wondering whether singer, songwriter and pianist, Amelia Warner, who writes and performs under the name Slow Moving Millie, will gain a similarly impressive chart position having had her cover of The Smiths’ track \u2018Please, \u2018Please, Please let me get what I want\u2019 chosen for John Lewis\u2019 2011 Christmas ad<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cJohn Lewis is a British institution and being part of their Christmas advert is so exciting,\u201d said Slow Moving Millie. \u201cThat they use these adverts to champion new and emerging artists is wonderful and I’m very grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although originally immersed in an acting career from an early age, Amelia has since made a lasting impression on the music scene, so we\u2019re predicting big things from this talented artist.<\/p>\n

With a talent for songwriting, for which she’s developed a fan base from scores for film and TV, Amelia is now signed to Island Records and is currently is in the studio recording her d\u00e9but album Renditions.<\/p>\n

Due for release next summer with award winning producer Charlie Hugall, who has worked with Florence and The Machine and Ellie Goulding, our models here at the talent agency<\/a> can\u2019t wait to hear more!<\/p>\n
