Unfortunately, those who have modelling potential<\/a> at a young age are quite often teased for their unusual beauty \u2013 whether that\u2019s being tall, having big lips, or in Jade Thompson\u2019s case, being freckly – before they\u2019re discovered.<\/p>\n

As was the case with Lindsey Wixson<\/a> and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley<\/a>, the 20 year old Britain & Ireland\u2019s Next Top Model winner recently revealed that she too was bullied at school for her strikingly different looks, being called names such as \u2018freckle face\u2019 and \u2018ginger nut\u2019.<\/p>\n

Thompson told The Manchester Evening News\u00a0that she spent years feeling unconfident in\u00a0her appearance, wishing she didn\u2019t look so unique.<\/p>\n

Luckily for the stunning model, the tables have most certainly turned as Thompson\u2019s red hair, freckle-heavy face and mixed race – that all once appeared an obstacle – have now become her biggest assets.<\/p>\n

\u201cI spent years wishing I didn\u2019t have a face full of freckles and ginger hair until I suddenly realised I couldn\u2019t change it so I needed to learn to live with it,\u201d Jade told The Manchester Evening News.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt wasn\u2019t just that I had red hair and freckles. I\u2019m also mixed race and I\u2019d get people saying \u2018what are you?\u2019 If I can reassure young people who look like me, or come from a similar racial background to feel happier about themselves that would be great.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy advice to them is believe in yourself, not to listen to what others say and to go for it whatever your ambition in life,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, Thompson listened to her own advice and took a chance at becoming a model<\/a>. Now a confident working model, the stunning beauty looks set to build up an extremely impressive modelling portfolio with her competition prizes including a modelling contract with a well known modelling agency, the cover of Company magazine<\/a> and a contract with Miss Selfridge.<\/p>\n
