Nigerian model Ngozi Ugo, who has been modelling<\/a> professionally since 2006, recently spoke to LaizaLounge<\/a> about how her career began and why she chose to model<\/a>: \u201cI have always been inclined to fashion from my tender years and sticking around my mother also influenced me a great deal,\u201d she said. \u201cAlthough a medical doctor, she always sewed her clothes and ours by herself. This trained my eyes to see the details in clothes and fabrics. I could always tell a badly sewn clothe from afar. Growing in such environment gave me the foundation for fashion, and that was how it all started.\u201d<\/p>\n

Half Nigerian and half Greek, the model has worked for many big names in Nigeria, as well as internationally. \u201cLocally, I have worked with some amazing designers like Ituen Basi, Tiffany Amber, Lola,\u00a0and Kiki Nkuman,\u201d she said. \u201cI have also done some modelling jobs for Nigerian breweries, DSTV, Hennessy, Orange drugs, Elan magazine, Complete fashion magazine, Genevieve magazine, Mania magazine to mention a few.\u201d<\/p>\n

The stunning model also spoke to DeBuzz<\/a>, who asked her to define modelling: \u201cTo me, modelling is an art on its own… It\u2019s a way of delivering a message to unknown persons in a very convincing way, either positively or negatively (I choose to stick with the positive side).\u201d<\/p>\n
