David Chiang <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The latest feminine male model<\/a> to catch our attention here at Models Direct, aside from Andrej Pejic of course, is David Chiang.<\/p>\n

At 22-years-old, the long haired Taiwanese-Canadian model is in high demand among fashion’s heavyweights, so we thought it was about time we found out more.<\/p>\n

Luckily for us, The Cut caught up with Chiang<\/a> and asked him how he was discovered, what his family makes of his success and what his favourite experience from his debut autumn \u201810 show season in Paris was.<\/p>\n

In the interview, the model revealed that although he was first discovered by a scout while walking down the street at just 13, Chiang decided to defer his modelling career until he was 21. However, it seems his decision to model didn\u2019t go down too well with some of his family. \u201cMy mom was really against it at first,\u201d Chiang told The Cut. \u201cBut I convinced by mom that my agency was serious about my career. My mom is now really happy about my career because she sees me on TV and reads my interviews. She watches a lot of Chinese channels so she’s up on it now.\u201d<\/p>\n

And it looks as though the modelling career path was a wise decision, especially given that\u00a0 his debut autumn \u201810 show season saw him work with Alexander McQueen and for Emporio Armani. \u201cMeeting Alexander McQueen was magic. I was at the casting, and suddenly [McQueen] appeared behind a glass door and told me to stay for my fittings. I’ve also been told that I was the first Asian male model to ever walk for Emporio Armani.\u201d<\/p>\n

Having walked for many more since then, including Diesel, Richard Chai, and rag & bone at New York Fashion Week, Chiang\u2019s catwalk credibility is well and truly in place as far as Models Direct<\/a> is concerned and we can\u2019t wait to see more of him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
