It may be that from the moment your child was born they have been bombarded with compliments regarding their \u2018cute smile\u2019 or their \u2018adorable eyes\u2019, so perhaps it\u2019s time to ask a professional and see if modelling<\/a> could genuinely benefit you and your child.<\/p>\n

Model agencies specialising in this area are not just looking for stereotypical blonde, blue-eyed cuties, however, it is imperative that the baby or child is photogenic.<\/p>\n

A child\u2019s nature is perhaps the most important factor of all. A naturally shy child who is hides away from new people is very unlikely to be suited to the kind of environment on modelling shoots. As with any model, enthusiasm is crucial and it would be unfair to place your child in an environment they feel uncomfortable with.<\/p>\n

Also, your role is just as important as their ability to shine in front of the agency. Due to the pace of the modelling world, you must be flexible and able to cope with last-minute shoots and auditions whilst being organised enough to ensure your child arrives at shoots on time. More importantly, you will need to reassure your child and help make sure the day is enjoyable and fun.<\/p>\n

If you think your child has what it takes to start baby modelling<\/a>, contact an appropriate agency such as Models Direct<\/a>. Avoid high-profile editorial agencies as most of these do not consider child models<\/a>. You will be asked to send along one or two photographs via post or email \u2013 head and shoulders shots are preferable for babies so that their faces can be seen clearly. Remember, these do not have to be shots taken by a professional photographer, and in actual fact most agencies like to see standard photos initially. You will also need to be willing to provide your child\u2019s date of birth, height and size so that the most suitable work can be found for them.<\/p>\n
