We all know and love teen model<\/a> favourite Lindsey Wixson for her gorgeously unique gap toothed pout.<\/p>\n

But, as is the case with many young teens, even those with modelling potential<\/a>, confidence is easily knocked.<\/p>\n

The American model recently spoke to Vogue UK, revealing some encouraging words for all of us out there who look a little different, whether it\u2019s a dimple in our chin, being taller than everyone else or having a gap in our teeth – \u00a0or in Wixson\u2019s case, all three.<\/p>\n

Vogue asked Wixson whether her gapped teeth are a feature she\u2019s always been aware of. Wixson said: \u201cI was actually always really self-conscious about my gap. In middle school, this group of girls were always trying to beat me up – they called my gap a parking lot. It was a really awkward time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember first mentioning to the girls I used to sit next to at lunch that I was looking for a model agent, and then the next week they came in with a list of things they didn’t like about me. I felt skinny and tall – it was the worst time of my life. But I don’t feel like that anymore. Modelling has really helped build my confidence.”<\/p>\n

Now, at just 17 years old, Wixson is enjoying immense success. And her new found confidence derived from modelling<\/a> has allowed her to appreciate her own unique beauty.<\/p>\n

“I like my eyes – they’re quite versatile. Make-up artists like my face because they can put make-up on it too, I like it for the same reason. I guess having lips is good too. I feel comfortable in my own skin.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
