Models Falling Over On The Catwalk – It’s Not As Easy As You Might Think!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Supermodels always seem to be perfectly poised and flawless – however they do have their off days just like the rest of us!<\/p>\n

Walking in a straight line down the catwalk is harder than you might think and can take models quite a long time to perfect. Even seasoned models still have the occasional wobble and fall on the catwalk as you can see from the pictures featured below…<\/p>\n

But don’t worry the team here at Talent Management have some great tips at the bottom of this article so you can perfect your walk and avoid ending up like these models when you strut your stuff on the runway!<\/p>\n

Catwalk Advice and Tips<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Step gracefully, not like you’re marching.<\/li>\n
  • Practice your posture<\/li>\n
  • Be confident<\/li>\n
  • Put one foot in front of the other (literally). Toes should face outwards. Your footprints should form a zigzag.<\/li>\n
  • Look straight ahead<\/li>\n
  • Practice walking on as many different surfaces as you can – shiny, hard, bouncy or even grassy. You never know what sort of catwalk you may end up on in 5 inch heels or wedges!<\/li>\n
  • If you should trip, fall, or have any other unfortunate circumstance, recover gracefully, smile and most importantly – keep going!<\/li>\n
  • Watch supermodels on the catwalk and see how they walk. Visit fashion shows and watch them on TV and make notes – Who were the models that stood out the most? What made them unique? How was their walk different from the others’?<\/li>\n
  • Don’t exaggerate by opening your eyes too much or lifting your legs too high while walking.<\/li>\n
  • Develop your own signature walk and inject a bit of personality into it.<\/li>\n
  • Don’t move your arms or shoulders too much, and don’t move an arm more than you move the other, or it will look like you have only one arm that works.<\/li>\n
  • Videotape yourself walking, so you can understand what other people are seeing. Keep a record of your walk as you practise so you can see how you are progressing and what may still need work.<\/li>\n
  • Keep your posture from Head to Toe.<\/li>\n
