Being one of Europe\u2019s leading modelling agencie<\/a>s, we at Talent Management are all too aware of the current emphasis on body image within the world of fashion.<\/p>\n

But while the general consensus is that models are constantly criticised for being too big, criticism is also surfacing on the other side of the coin.<\/p>\n

Just as America\u2019s Next Top Model winner Ann Ward sparked controversy for being naturally thi<\/a>n, the same is happening for 5\u201910.5\u201d Polish model Kasia Struss.<\/p>\n

Replacing Lindsey Wixson, Struss was shot for the Miu Miu spring 2011 campaign wearing a dress that reveals her arms, shoulders and d\u00e9colletage.<\/p>\n

The new ad, which appeared in The Times, led to 2 readers of the paper complaining, claiming the use of in the campaign was \u201cirresponsible\u201d due to Struss\u2019 slimness.<\/p>\n

The Advertising Standards Agency (ASA), however, disagreed. ASA said that while Struss looked slim, she was a similar weight to other models in the fashion industry.<\/p>\n

According to a statement from the ASA, \u201cthe lighting effects, makeup and low-cut dress emphasised her body shape\u201d, but said that the ad was typical of those used for fashion products.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe model did not look significantly underweight. We therefore concluded that the ad was not irresponsible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Miu Miu\u2019s parent company Prada stressed that Struss is considered one of the top models at the moment.<\/p>\n

In fact, the model has been shot for numerous fashion ad campaigns during her career, including Valentino, Christian Dior, Chlo\u00e9, Mulberry, Pringle of Scotland, Jil Sander, Dolce & Gabbana, and Costume National.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
