Tyra Banks<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

It seems the team here<\/a> at Talent Management and former model Tyra Banks have something in common; our love for curvier models appearing increasingly in mainstream media.<\/p>\n

Host, judge and executive producer of America’s Next Top Model (ANTM), Banks has said she is “very happy” about the movement that she is partly to thank for, having pushed for bigger women to compete in the show.<\/p>\n

Pop Eater recently asked Banks: \u201cTop Model was one of the first times we saw plus-size models treated equally, now it’s a trend. Do you feel responsible?\u201d<\/p>\n

To which she answered: \u201cI am actually really, really happy [about the success of plus-sized models].<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I pitched the idea of Top Model to the network, I said I have to have plus-sized models and that was a different time, so they were like, ‘Eh, whatever’. Now to see V magazine and Glamour and Chanel and Marc Jacobs embracing it … it’s great.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe thing is we have to make sure it isn’t just a trend. Women’s bodies come in so many different sizes, I am hoping it is not a trend and we can continue the different looks.\u201d<\/p>\n

Discussing models choices for ANTM, she added: \u201cI am attracted to beauty that is odd. I created ‘Top Model’ to expand the definition of beauty and we have always chosen some girls who are odd and interesting.\u201d<\/p>\n

We too believe that the definition of beauty should be widened<\/a>, and this is something clearly apparent in our agency.
