The Talent Management team has been following the rise of Sudanese-born Australian model<\/a> Ajak Deng ever since she was dubbed as \u2018one to watch\u2019 back in 2009.<\/p>\n

Now 20 years old, it seems we were right to keep an eye on her. As one of the undeniable breakout stars of the S\/S \u201810 Paris shows – booking Chloe, Givenchy and Gaultier \u2013 the young model<\/a> seems to be making a name for herself.<\/p>\n

Her distinctive looks have bagged her an array of editorials and, according to Vogue Australia, Deng is on an \u201cupward trajectory to fashion-world fame\u201d, and we couldn\u2019t agree more.<\/p>\n

Appearing in the March issue of Vogue Australia, the magazine asked this dark-skinned bleach-blonde stunner what she loves most about modelling.<\/p>\n

\u201cTravelling, meeting new people, having friends from everywhere,\u201d she said. \u201cI have Chinese friends, and French – it\u2019s weird because we\u2019re all from different parts of the world but we all understand each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve travelled to LA, New York, Salt Lake City, Austria, Berlin, Paris, London, and then Melbourne and Sydney. There\u2019s been a lot of tripping. It can get on my nerves for a little while but then all I need is 15 hours sleep and I\u2019m good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Deng went on to highlight who she looks up to in the modelling industry: \u201cI look up to [model] Alek Wek. We did shows together and I thought \u2018if you can do it I can do it\u2019. She\u2019s Sudanese – we\u2019re from the same town and the same city – so I look up to her. When I met her we were working and she asked me where I\u2019m from and what inspired me to be a model. She said \u2018this industry can be really hard, but all you\u2019ve got to do is just think of it as something you\u2019ve already started and you really want to finish. You don\u2019t want to quit in the middle of it, so just don\u2019t quit.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cNaomi Campbell and Tyson Beckford also tell me the same thing: \u2018don\u2019t give up.\u2019 I\u2019m definitely not going to give up until I see where this is going to end.\u201d<\/p>\n

We think Deng has a fantastic attitude towards what can be a demanding and challenging industry \u2013 and because of that, we think she will continue to go far.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
