Curvy model<\/a> Kate Upton may have shot to stardom in front of our eyes, and has even begun to make the difficult transition from swimsuit modelling to fashion modelling, but of late she\u2019s been hitting the headlines for a not so positive reason \u2013 being called fat.<\/p>\n

Pro-skinny model website Skinny Gossip wrote a post in which they outlined all the ways they feel Upton is too fat to model<\/a> \u2013 a post that the team at Talent Management found utterly disgusting.

\nThankfully, in the face of adversity, Upton has made it clear that despite the hurtful comments, she will not be joining the skinny model ranks and is happy in her own body.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was hard when I was first in the industry and people were like: \u2018No, you are fat\u2019. But my body is something that you have to work out and eat healthily for,\u201d\u00a0she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not doing drugs or not eating. I want to enjoy life and I can\u2019t be enjoying life if I\u2019m not eating and miserable. Young models \u2013 these agents are horrible to them they treat them so badly. I went to Australia and my agent there said don\u2019t call me if you need anything, just show up on these castings. Some models don\u2019t say anything [about being sleazed] on but I\u2019m very verbal I always said something.\u201d<\/p>\n

Talking about a recent fashion shoot she was booked for, she said: \u201cI enjoy fashion so much but I don’t think people realise it because I’m always in a bikini.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now that Upton has become the latest model to front American clothing and accessories brand Guess – following on from top fashion models Anna Beatriz Barros, Victoria Silvstedt and Claudia Schiffer \u2013 and has even been profiled in Vogue\u2019s July issue wearing somewhat more than a tiiny bikini, and all without losing her curves, we\u2019re confident she can make it in fashion modelling without having to change herself.<\/p>\n
