Last month, Skinny Gossip<\/a>, a pro-skinny, verging on pro-ana, website, wrote a post that Talent Management bloggers found utterly disturbing.<\/p>\n

Cruelly outlining all the ways in which swimwear model turned fashion model Kate Upton is fat, the post has disgusted everyone here at the modelling agency<\/a>, not to mention the rest of the industry.
\n
\nAccording to the site, the stunningly curvy model<\/a>, who by no means is overweight, looks like a \u201csquishy brick\u201d. Next to some shots of Upton modelling a bikini on the catwalk, the hateful post reads: \u201cIt\u2019s the lovely Kate Upton, confidently lumbering up a runway like there\u2019s a buffet at the end of it.<\/p>\n

\u201cHas fashion become\u00a0this? Well \u2013 we know it hasn\u2019t, so let\u2019s not pretend this is fashion. She looks thick, vulgar, almost pornographic \u2013 and she is a solid 30 lbs too heavy for this outfit.\u201d<\/p>\n

The woman behind the site claims to be an ex-editorial and print model who prides herself in keeping very thin \u2013 she\u2019s 5\u20197\u2033 and tries and stay at around 100 lbs. When we inputted these figures into the NHS\u2019 BMI healthy weight calculator, she comes out at a dangerously low 15.67, suggesting she is \u201cunderweight, which can affect health\u201d, according to the NHS.<\/p>\n

Well, we for one love the fact that Upton is a million miles away from this super skinny look. Not only does the voluptuous teen model make an uplifting change to fashion\u2019s skinny model ideal, but all-American girl is sending out a great message to young girls by being a healthy weight that\u2019s neither plus-size or super slim.<\/p>\n

Because of this, it\u2019s no wonder Upton has caught the eye of many industry insiders \u2013 Talent Management<\/a> included.<\/p>\n

Jezebel<\/a> has said she is \u201cbasically the epitome of curvy, blonde beauty,\u201d and that she \u201cticks every box\u201d. While BuzzFeed<\/a> said: \u201c[H]aters can go on hating, but any model that doesn\u2019t fit into the runways\u2019 preferred insanely skinny – yet muscley! – mould is more than alright by me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s hope Upton continues to proper in the modelling industry and that sites like Skinny Gossip, which send out a potentially dangerous message to influential readers, are banned for good.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
