The entire team at Talent Management first noticed transgender model Andrej Pejic at Paris Fashion Week in January last year when he famously walked both the men’s and women’s shows for Jean-Paul Gaultier.

Ever since, we’ve all been encapsulated by his astonishingly androgynous looks as he’s gone on to model risqué cover shoots – like the May 2011 Dossier Journal where he’s pictured taking off his shirt with his long hair in curlers – model push-up bras for Hema and has even been ranked 98th in FHM’s World’s Sexiest Women List.

There’s no question about it – ever since Pejic wore that wedding dress for Gaultier’s Paris show, he’s undoubtedly become one of the key protagonists in the rising ‘gender trend’.

It’s not surprising then that the boundary-pushing enfant terrible of French fashion has been missing the razor-sharp cheekbones and he-she charms of Pejic.

Last month, Gaultier, who’s known for Gaultier using unconventional models for his work, revealed Pejic has been signed for the designer’s new male fragrance campaign for Kokorico.

But we’ve been wondering, judging by Pejic’s increasingly controversial shoots and Gaultier ever-surprising creative mind, just what can we expect from the model’s role in this campaign?

Luckily for us, the designer gave us a taste of what’s to come when he spoke to Fashionista at a New York gala last weekend: “What I should say is that he has a role—an important role because it’s like a threesome, three people—he is one of the three.”

As a blatant long-term fan, it seems he also couldn’t resist gushing over the androgynous model: “He is quite beautiful and incredible. I think he has something, like, everybody can recognize his beauty. It must be male, but not straight male, it can be women even find him beautiful and it can be gay men, but gay men maybe they don’t find this.

“But in reality, he’s like, what can we say, like a modern woman boy of today. He’s not like the old type of let’s say, maybe like a drag queen or a transvestite, not at all. He’s Andrej. He is very beautiful.”

The designer even complemented Pejic’s personality: “Beautiful light and he’s a very nice person and he’s truly great. I like him and I wish him the best success. He’s starting very well. It’s like everybody cannot, you cannot not be sensitive to his beauty.”

Talent Management for one can’t wait to see the campaign images and think that the Gaultier and Pejic pairing is a match made in heaven…or maybe hell!
